On the weekend of Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th July 2015 the D9650 NYSF Committee gathered in Walcha to select 17 students to go to NYSF in Canberra. We interviewed 33 applicants supported by 19 Rotary Clubs.
All applicants were of a high standard which made the selection process a difficult task.
The students were interviewed by 3 panels of Rotarians and community members of varying backgrounds.
These panels assessed the students in different areas such as
- Panel 1 - Academic
- Panel 2 - General knowledge, current affairs & Rotary knowledge
- Panel 3 - Scientific knowledge & ability.
All panels also noted personalities and how effectively the students could communicate their responses.
The Committee believe the weekend was a great success and as District Chair I would like to thank DG Maurie and De, DGN Bob and Margaret, all the Clubs, Students, Mums, Dads, the Rotary Club of Walcha and the hard working members of the NYSF Committee for all their support and assistance.
Below is a list of the successful applicants and their supporting clubs.
